The Bell World is not like any world we know. There are no laws of physics there, just whims and suggestions. Gravity is unreliable, and things often change all at once without warning, like a sneeze. The one thing that can be taken for granted on the Bell World, that is always present, is the sound of a bell. That cherished sound prepares the beings of the Bell World for every sort of change, though this was not always so. |
